Our Story

Starting in 2023 by a young FIFO worker driving through a cattle station on his way to Halls Creek in the East Kimberley, Outback Drover Co. stemmed from a simple observation while watching in awe as ringers from the station mustered cattle on horseback across the road from one paddock to another.

Noticing the well-worn clothes on the ringers back. Dylan Scarborough thought to himself “How can I make a hard-wearing product that can meet the everyday demands of the men and women who live/work the station life?”

Going back to his donga at the mine, Dylan came up with a logo steering clear of cattle and horns, he landed on a stockman mustering a cow on horseback. With that it was the design and sampling process, testing different fabrics and styles over months, he finally landed on a 100% cotton work shirt that he was happy with. Then came the real test, how would this product handle the life it was built for?

On another supply run through to Halls Creeks, he pulled up to some of the ringers and said, “Hey mate, do you mind trying out a shirt for me?” probably thinking he was half mad they agreed and so begun the journey of Outback Drover Co. launching officially in April 2024.

From here months passed and feedback was passed on, Dylan left his FIFO job to work on a station and test the clothes first-hand. Discovering what worked and what didn’t our line of clothes grew.

Now testing the products on the back of bucking horses at Rodeos, Dylan along with his family and friends hold stalls at rodeos and other events as well as the online store.
